Flexible Working Changes are almost upon us

With effect from 6th April 2024 there are changes to arrangements on how and Employer is expected to deal with flexible working requests.

The key changes are:

  • The right to make a flexible working request will become a day one right;
  • An employee will be entitled to make two requests in a twelve-month period;
  • The flexible working process will no longer require the employee to outline the impact their request may have on the Employer and how this impact can be ameliorated;
  • The time period for concluding the process and making a decision on a request, including an appeal, will be reduced to two-months.
